From 29.08 to 05.09, the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Science at the GIU hosted a summer school jointly with HTW Berlin - University of Applied Sciences in New Administrative Capital Campus.
During the school, students from the GIU as well as HTW worked in teams to build several Augmented Reality (AR) applications in the GIU labs after attending an AR development course hosted by HTW throughout the past months.
During the summer school, Mr. Mohamed Kaoud, the Associate Director of Hotels & Tourism MENA Colliers International, the Chairman Egylière and the President of the Tourism Committee of Egyptian Junior Business Association paid the teams a visit. Two teams won the hackathon held on the sidelines of the summer school.
The summer school was headed by Prof. Dr. Slim Adennadher and Prof. Dr. Jürgen Sieck. The school was organized by Prof. Regina Friess, Mr. Martin Steinecke, Dr. Nada Sharaf, and the Informatics teaching assistants Amal Lasheen, Radwa Shennawy, Mariam Sadek and Ahmed Sherif.
