With the participation of the German Ambassador to Cairo and a high-ranking German delegation from the Federal Ministry of Higher Education and Research and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), a visit was conducted at the German International University (GIU). This visit reflects Germany’s ongoing commitment to nurturing and developing the talents of Egyptian children over the years. DAAD Scholarships for Outstanding GIU Students In celebration of 100 years of DAAD, the German Academic Exchange Service has announced the awarding of special scholarships to outstanding students at the German International University (GIU). These scholarships are granted to top-performing students across multiple faculties, including Engineering, Architecture, Informatics & Computer Science, Design, Business Administration, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Physical Therapy, and Biotechnology. The scholarships cover tuition fees for nearly 198 students at GIU. The event was attended by key figures, including: • Dr. Kai Sicks, Secretary General of DAAD • Dr. Lisette André, Director of Higher Education for Europe at the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research • Mr. Julius Georg Luy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of GIU • Dr. Ashraf Mansour, Co-President of the Board of Trustees of GIU • Dr. Slim Abdennadher, President of GIU • Dr. Yasser Hegazy, President of GUC • Eng. Ahmed Fahmy, General Manager of the New Administrative Capital Development Company • Eng. Khaled Abbas, Chairman and Managing Director of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development.
