In this module, participants will learn about various tools for assessing the nutritional status and needs of athletes in order to be able to advise athletes on effective dietary strategies. It also includes methods for determining total caloric needs, macronutrient, micronutrient and hydration requirements. Participants will also learn about nutritional needs for endurance, ultra endurance and strength/power athletes, and how to develop meal plans that meet the unique nutritional needs of different sports groups considering factors such as training intensity, competition schedules, and individual preferences. This module is specifically designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively manage the nutritional needs of athletes with specific medical conditions and dietary requirements. With the guidance of experienced instructors, participants will acquire a deep understanding of how to provide tailored nutritional support to vegetarian athletes and to athletes during special events such as travelling, Ramadan and Christian fasting, ensuring optimal health and performance.
