FINANCIAL AID
The German International University offers German Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees and applies rules and regulations of university Admission in Germany (“Hochschulzugangsberechtigung”) Students are requested to present a high school certificate from a secondary school that is accepted as “allgemeine Hochschulreife (Abitur)” “fachgebundene Hochschulreife (fachgebundenes Abitur)” or an Equivalent certificate. For equivalent high school certificates please check the German ANABIN Portal (Database for the recognition and evaluation of foreign educational certificates in Germany (https://www.anerkennung-in- deutschland.de/html/de/). In case of not fulfilling Admission requirements as requested in Germany (“Hochschulzugangsberechtigung”), students will follow the Admission requirements to study Foundation semester(s)/courses.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
  • Original Thanaweyya Amma Certificate or certified original “مستخرج رسمي”
  • Original Birth Certificate 6 passport size recent photos (not older than one year).
  • Military Service Form (Namouzag 2 Gond), for Egyptian male students only
  • Letter of withdrawal from other University (in case student is registered in another University)
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
  • Having passed at least 8 OL subjects plus 1 ASL / AL Math for the faculties of Architectural Engineering/Engineering
  • Having passed at least 8 OL subjects for the faculties of Informatics & Computer Science, Economics & Business Administration, Design, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology, Physical Therapy.
  • Minimum accepted grade for O levels is “C”
  • Minimum accepted grade for ASL and AL is “D”
  • Obtaining at least the minimum percentages set by GIU admission office for the requested program in the same year of admission;
  • Scores obtained in specific subjects related to the desired program of study in GIU will be taken into consideration as an asset

  • IGCSE-Slips stamped by the British Council as True Documents only (no other stamp can replace the British Council stamp) and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs + stamp of “الإدارة العامة للإمتحانات التابعة لوزارة التربيةو التعليم”
  • If IGCSE Slips are obtained from outside Egypt, required stamp of British Council, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Egyptian Embassy in country of certificate(s) or From Egypt, to be stamped by the British Council as True documents only from both British council of the foreign country and then British Council Egypt and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • Edadeyya Certificate or Proof of 12 years of schooling stamped by School and certified by the Educational Zone the school belongs to.
  • If proof of 12 years of schooling is obtained from outside Egypt required stamps are: the School stamp, the stamp of the Educational Zone, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Egyptian Embassy in that foreign country.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
  • Having passed at least 8 different subjects including the qualifying subjects.
  • Achieving a passing score in SAT I/ACT I/EST I
  • ACT II/ EST II are highly recommended and gives extra bonus
  • A minimum score of 900 /1600 must be achieved for ACT II/ EST II

For certificates obtained from schools outside Egypt:
  • Original Final High School Transcript stamped by the school and Ministry of Education, stamp of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of country of the certificate and stamp of Egyptian Embassy in country of certificate are required.
  • Accreditation Letter from AMID-EAST (stamped by AMID-EAST and Ministry of Foreign Affairs) is required
  • Proof of 12 years of schooling stamped by the School, the Educational Zone, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Egyptian Embassy in that foreign country.
  • SAT scores are required to be stamped by Amideast in Egypt and Ministry of Foreign Affairs

For all American Certificates::
  • Student must provide the Admission Department with user name and password for their account of SAT/ACT/EST exam(s)
  • The legal guardian must attend while submitting the originals to sign needed documents

  • The total number of subjects to be calculated is 7 (including the qualifying subjects)
  • Obtaining at least the minimum percentages set by GIU admission office for the requested program in the same year of admission;

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
  • Abitur-Certificate stamped by the school, the German Embassy and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs + stamp of الإدارة العامة للإمتحانات, Cairo. Certified copies “beglaubigte Kopie” will not be considered as original certificates.
  • Abitur Zeugnis in any other language than English or Arabic should be translated into English or Arabic and stamped with the required stamps as mentioned above. (Both the original and the translation must be stamped).
  • Edadeyya Certificate or Proof of 12years of schooling stamped by School and certified by the Educational Zone the school belongs to.
  • If the proof of 12 years of schooling is obtained from outside Egypt required stamps are: the school stamp, the stamp of the Educational Zone and the Egyptian Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs in that foreign country.
  • Arab Nationals obtaining their High School certificate from Egypt have to submit original documents of Arabic Language, Religion and Civics exams - Thanaweya Amma (University graduation requirement)
  • Arab Nationals obtaining foreign High School certificate from outside Egypt must submit accepted, certified original certificate of Arabic Language and religion before graduation or take the Arabic / religion supplementary exam(s) before graduation. Arabic & religion exam certificate from outside Egypt are examined by Supreme council of higher education for final approval

  • Passing the English Language is a must for acceptance.
  • Theory of knowledge, Extended Essay & Creativity are required.
  • Students must obtain the final graduation IB Diploma to be considered for admission.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
  • A scientific-oriented Thanaweyya Amma is required for studying in Engineering and Informatics & Computer Science specializations
  • A non-scientific-oriented Thanaweyya Amma graduate is eligible to study in Economics & Business Administration and Design specializations
  • All Islamic subjects are not calculated during the evaluation of the final percentage.
QUALIFYING SUBJECTS
  • A scientific-oriented Thanaweyya Amma is required for studying in the Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Informatics & Computer Science, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Biotechnology and Physical Therapy specializations
  • A non-scientific-oriented Thanaweyya Amma graduate is eligible to study in Economics & Business Administration and Design specializations
Other certificates will be examined and evaluated by the GIU Admission office according to each certificate qualifications.
