Students from the Faculty of Biotechnology and Faculty of Pharmaceutical Engineering participated in the Berlin summer workshop ‘Pharma Industry Goes Green’ in the duration from July 23rd, 2022 to August 6th, 2022. Twenty-Three students attended the workshop organized and supervised by Dr. Marwa Hany, Pharmaceutical Chemistry Lecturer- GIU.

The Architecture Engineering Program Exhibition showcases the outstanding achievements, talent and work undertaken by our students over the academic year 2021/2022. During the making process, students explored different ways to transform abstract notions and ideas into tangible architectural forms. This was done through a set of courses that they went through, that enabled them to have this impressive output.

GIU held its 1st Engineering Poster Day on June 20th, 2022 for its sixth semester Engineering students. During this event, the students showcased their prototypes and posters to present their accomplishments and to demonstrate their results and findings. The team-based projects provide opportunities for the students to gain experience by applying their knowledge, demonstrating their skills, and paving their career paths. In addition, they inspire other junior students with ideas that they can adopt to decide on their own Bachelor theses and internships. Thirty teams participated in the event, each individually addressing a particular area of technical interest, under the supervision of the Engineering Faculty members and some delegates from the industry.

LREC (Language Resources Evaluation Conference), one of the leading conferences in Natural Language Processing, was held in June 2022 in Marseille, France with the participation of Dr. Caroline Sabty from the Informatics and Computer Science Faculty. The conference is a major annual event on Language Resources (LRs) and Evaluation for Human Language Technologies (HLT).

“Finyology- FinTech for Youth” is an initiative by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) that has the aim of fostering young talents and inspiring university students from different related majors to conduct FinTech projects and innovative solutions.

Guest speaker, Mr. Ahmed Salem, Marketing Manager at Juhayna Corporate, has honored us by sharing his rich experience in the marketing industry and attending the final presentations for the business case proposed by Juhayna addressed by GIU students.

Guest speaker, Mr. Adel Hosney, Senior Reporting Manager, and Cash Management Specialist at Al-Mansour Automotive Co., has honored us by lecturing third year Business Administration students (major Finance, Banking, and Accounting) an informative lecture about the work flow of the Department Finance department and the Treasury in specific.

Although Taxonomy was only established in 2020 in Egypt, its huge success story has been witnessed nationally and internationally. Taxonomy consists of tax professionals with extensive experience regarding tax planning, which the aim to create a tax-secure environment.
